Andrés moved to NYC as a teenager from his native Ecuador. He attended Hunter College, where he learned the basic theories of public service by majoring in Political Science and complimenting his education with a minor in Public Policy. After his undergrad, he also acquired a master’s degree in public administration from Baruch College.
Andres started his career in politics in the New York State Senate. From 2012 to 2014, he worked with New York Senator José M. Serrano. After working in the public sector, Andres joined Capalino+Company, where he assisted clients in a variety of capacities including securing millions of dollars in funding for not-for-profit organizations, crafting legislative strategies, and coordinating community engagement for real estate projects. He is currently the Director of External Affairs for the Hospitality Alliance where he helps advocate the interest of businesses in the hospitality industry. In addition, he is the President of the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce (GVCCC). In this capacity, Andres oversees a number of local economic development initiatives being implemented in the district.
