Garrett Ronan is a successful hospitality professional with over 28 years of experience in New York as well as nationally and internationally in the hotel and restaurant business.
Garrett grew up in Ireland and received his education at the Shannon College of Hotel Management where he graduated with honors. He left Ireland shortly after college and gained global experience and insight within the hotel and restaurant industry in Switzerland and the UK before moving to New York City in 1998 to join The Waldorf Astoria. Since then, he has spent time working in the Caribbean as well as gaining both east and west coast experience in the US before returning to New York in 2013.
He has worked at all levels of the industry and in various managerial and executive roles with some of the most recognized brands in the industry such as The Azumi Group, The Waldorf Astoria NY, The Beverly Hilton, Boston Harbor Hotel, Principal Hotels (UK), Adare Manor (Ireland), and Mövenpick Hotels (Zurich).
Currently, Garrett is based in New York as vice president of development, US, for the Azumi Group. He joined The Azumi Group in 2013 to help develop their extensive international portfolio in the United States for "Zuma". Zuma is a highly successful contemporary Japanese restaurant concept created by chef Rainer Becker that is internationally renowned with locations in London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai, Miami, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, Datça Peninsula, New York, Rome, and Las Vegas with Boston due to open in early 2019 and sights also set on Los Angeles. Additionally, he oversees development for Azumi Group’s latest US concepts, “ETARU” with two locations in South Florida and “INKO NITO” with two locations in Los Angeles.
