The NYC Hospitality Alliance is joined by a lot of concern and uncertainty during this very trying time. Our small team is inundated with inquiries from members and we are working around-the-clock to do everything in our power to lead and support.
One of the challenges is that the facts on the ground are evolving by the hour. Therefore, our members NEED a reliable and steady source of information. Yesterday, we had 600+ members and stakeholders on a webinar about the legal implications of business closures and staff reduction policy. Later in the evening, we issued a new memo on Governor Cuomo's occupancy reduction mandate - we will release additional information as it becomes available. This is happening extremely fast and we are responding in kind. You can find all of the latest member-support materials on our homepage www.theNYCalliance.org.
If you haven't yet, please read the NYC Hospitality Alliance's 12-point Mitigation and Support Plan for restaurants and nightlife establishments, which we began sharing with elected officials and the media yesterday. We are working on additional mitigation plans too. These policies will be essential to the industry's viability moving forward and we are aggressively advocating for them. And we have also begun to proactively plan for a "comeback campaign" for the industry if it should come to that.
It is going to be a difficult road ahead, but New York City has faced major challenges before, and we will persevere again. This is the Restaurant and Nightlife Capital of the World, and we don't fall easily.
We wish you and your family safety and good health.
