Important New Restaurant Restrictions

By NYC Hospitality Alliance

Due to increasing COVID-19 clusters in a number of neighborhoods in New York, specifically in some NYC neighborhoods within Brooklyn and Queens, Gov. Cuomo announced yesterday that new restrictions will be enacted for restaurants and bars in these areas

  • In "RED" areas, restaurants must cease indoor and outdoor dining. Only takeout and delivery are permitted.

  • In "ORANGE" areas, only outdoor dining (4 person maximum per table) and takeout and delivery are permitted. Indoor dining is prohibited.

  • In "YELLOW" areas, indoor and outdoor dining (4 person maximum per table at both) and takeout and delivery are permitted.

These new requirements will take effect by Friday, but could occur sooner and will be in effect for at least 14 days at which time they will be reviewed. We know that many people will have additional questions, such as how to determine exactly which zone a business falls in, and once additional information is available we will share it with you.
