July 6th Indoor Dining May be Postponed in NY

By NYC Hospitality Alliance

A final determination on the reopening of indoor dining will be made by Wednesday (we are asking for confirmation ASAP) and we will provide you details as soon as they are confirmed.

As we see the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in states around the country, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio announced today that they're considering postponing reopening indoor restaurant and bar service at a 50% reduced occupancy in NYC, which was scheduled to begin on July 6th.

The NYC Hospitality Alliance issued the following statement in response to this announcement:

New York City restaurants and bars have been financially devastated and the only thing they can afford less than reopening now, is to reopen, rehire and resupply to only be shut down again shortly thereafter. So while we'll defer to the public health officials for preventing another spike in cases as we're seeing in other states and cities across the nation, our small businesses urgently need certainty and immediate support on rent, expanded outdoor dining and other responsive policies if they are to have any real chance of survival and recovery.
