Take Action: Tell The Federal Government We

By NYC Hospitality Alliance

While the NYC Hospitality Alliance has primarily focused on City and State issues, COVID-19 has engaged us in federal matters such as advocating for the important modifications that were made to the PPP

The federal government is discussing another stimulus package that would include support for small businesses, which will likely be the last opportunity before the November election for an aid package to support restaurants and nightlife establishments desperately need.

We recommend you read this New York Times article, "Special Interests Mobilize to Get Piece of Next Virus Relief Package" to understand the current situation and why having your voice here is so important.

While the NYC Hospitality Alliance has primarily focused on City and State issues, COVID-19 has engaged us in federal matters such as advocating for the important modifications that were made to the Paycheck Protection Program and advocating for business interruption insurance claims to be paid.

We know that the federal government is in the position to provide the restaurant and nightlife industry the support necessary to help countless businesses survive. We support the Blueprint for Restaurant Revival proposed by the National Restaurant Association -- and their state partner the NYS Restaurant Association. The blueprint includes support for: (1) the RESTAURANTS ACT, which would provide grants via a $120 billion revitalization fund, this would pay for various expenses and is a priority of the Independent Restaurant Coalition; (2) a second installment of the Paycheck Protection Program; (3) addressing the issue of business interruption insurance claims; (4) providing liability protections and more policies that must be enacted into law.
