Hospitality Consultant, Beatrice Stein, says eliminating the tip credit would not reduce harassment in the industry. Instead, she suggests, it would only financially hurt the very people it is purported to help. 

"In the eyes of a guest, the service employee is performing the same duties, whether they are being tipped or not. The customer sees the service employee as subservient. Guests can be disrespectful, racist, or rude, along with being a generous (or cheap) tipper, regardless of the wage structure."
