Tomorrow morning, NYC Mayor de Blasio will sign an executive order effective Tuesday, March 17th at 9:00AM that restaurants and bars must close. These businesses will be permitted to provide take-out and delivery food only. No dining or drinking in establishments will be permitted. Clubs and bars with no food will be required to fully close.

Due to this mandated closure, restaurants and bars will no longer be able pay their employees, including paid sick leave for some, during this emergency once they are forced to close. Employees must be taken care of and it is now up to government to provide for them when small businesses cannot. Government also must immediately cap all third-party restaurant delivery fees at no more than 10%.

The NYC Hospitality Alliance will propose policy ideas to address the massive issues this will create. We are in this together!

This is breaking news and we will provide additional information as it become available.
